Operations
This current relay is known to monitor the current flowing through the circuit continuously through the secondary of CT which lies in the current path. Single CT required for one phase where as for 3 phase, one CT per phase in required. Relay status changes when current signal goes out of the range selected on the dial. Each phase of current is sensed separately in case of 3 phase current relay for providing protection. These are available with time relays and for earth fault relays the CT is connected in earth fault current path
For e.g. Cable connected between Alternator Neutral and Ground, or Neutral of the circuit.
